The 2026 Amber Group Jamaica National Age Group Chess Championship concluded with strong performances across multiple divisions, highlighted by Khalel Davy’s victory in the U12 Absolute category. The event, proudly sponsored by Amber Group and City Tiles, showcased Jamaica’s rising chess talent across boys’ and girls’ divisions from U8 to U18.


IThe 2026 National Age Group Chess Championshipwwas sponsored bt Amber group , took place at the National Arena in Kingston on May 2-3. Organized by the Jamaica Chess Federation, this massive two-day tournament was supported by a major sponsorship from the Amber Group.

Key Highlights

The 2026 Jamaica National Age Group Chess Championship brought together the country’s brightest young talents across U8–U18 divisions. Sponsored by Amber Group and City Tiles, the event highlighted Jamaica’s growing chess culture and produced standout performances, most notably Kaia Gayle’s historic double victory in both the U18 Absolute and Girls divisions.

The winner of the U18 Absolute category at the 2026 Jamaica National Age Group Chess Championship was Kaia Gayle of St. Andrew High School for Girls, rated 1889 Elo. She topped the standings ahead of Nathaniel Hope (St. Jago High, 1871 Elo) and Corbin Harvey (Wolmer’s Boys, 1849 Elo).
