NEW GOVERNING CHESS COUNCIL ELECTED IN JAMAICA

On Saturday, June 22 at its 50th Annual General Meeting held at Eden Gardens Wellness Resort & Spa in Kingston, the Jamaica Chess Federation (“JCF”) elected a new governing Executive Council. National Master Peter Myers was elected unopposed for a two-year term to lead the affairs of what is generally regarded as the fastest growing sport in Jamaica.

Vice-Presidents are CM Mark Holness (Cornwall), Howard Wilson (Middlesex) and WIM Deborah Richards-Porter (Surrey). Two other new officers were elected - Maxine Brown will be the new Secretary while IM Jomo Pitterson FI is Treasurer. Other Council members are NA Terence Lindo NI IO, Ian Wilkinson QC FI IO, David Rose, NM Geoffrey Byfield, NM Ryan Blackwood, NM Mikhail Solomon, Dr. Camille Edwards-McKennis & Richard Shaw.
